just because day ‘09

I was super excited when Jan from Visitation Academy called last week.  She wanted to book our photobooth for a surprise school event.  Every year Viz hosts an event called “Just Because Day” for their students.  This year, they were planning to include tons of fun & games, a bounce house, and a photobooth.  AWESOME, right?  It turns out that the Just Because Day was only a week away from the date that Jan called.  Adding to that, the festivities were set to begin at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday morning.  Just to clarify, we typically book events for evenings and weekends…there usually isn’t much demand for mornings during the week.  Of course, I wanted to work with Jan and her school…the event sounded like it would be so much fun!  But, I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to find an assistant to help me at the last minute.   So naturally, I did anything that any self-respecting girl does when she has more on her plate than she can handle; I called my mom!  And, thank goodness she was more than willing to come and help.

I am so grateful that she did.  I’m sure that you can picture 400 teenage girls with a photobooth (and all of their friends) at their full disposal.  It was bordering chaos!  I never could have done it without my mom’s help, or the help of the amazing teaching staff at Viz.  These girls were so much fun, but it was CRAZY!  Mom and I had a great time working together, and we took a little time to play while we were setting up.  Here’s the result of our goofing off…

That’s me in the blonde wig…I had just pulled it out of the package when we arrived,and it was destroyed by the end of  the day.

Mom, thank you so much for helping me.  I hope that I get to spend more days with you “Just Because”.
